Role

Lead Designer

Clutter-free

New Fixtures were needed to display flooring samples on a sales floor that removed clutter, provided easy access, clear wayfinding and a smoother shopping experience for customers.

Challenge

Most flooring storefronts are challenged by the clutter of hundreds of large samples that create visual confusion and a disoriented customer upon entering the store.

Our goal was to create a unified fixture line that minimizes the visual clutter, gives easy access to samples and space for store associates to assist the customer in design. The design should be able to accomodate future stores with different layouts.

Solution

Modular units that can be arranged into bays line the walls, while lower carpet displays center-floor keep an eye-line of the entire store, Tables for design assistance line the perimeter.

Visual Clarity

Angled displays organize each sample so everything has its place. The store is divided into Wood, tile, Mosaic and carpet sections.

Modularity

Wall fixtures are divided into 32 inch sections that can be arranged in bays along each wall to accommodate any footprint.

Customer experience

The customer has a partial view of every sample thanks to the angle of the displays. The samples can be partially pulled out for a better view, and duplicate samples are stored below each row of fixtures. The duplicate samples can be brought to one of the design tables to lay out with other samples to create the customers ideal flooring combinations
